Weakness & the Magic way to Win..

How a Small Business can beat the Big Guys...

We spent a fabulous weekend away for our 27th Wedding Anniversary - from Thursday to Sunday we stayed in a fancy hotel, drank cocktails at lunchtime and champagne with dinner...

As we don't have TV in our home - we also get to catch up on some programs that we have missed too...

Some Programs such as Jeremy Kyle, Hollyoaks Omnibus and East Enders actually confirm that our decision not to have TV was correct, others are a bit more engaging...

On the Saturday morning I was watching an interview with a Boxer who was being put up against a bigger, stronger and, at least on paper, more successful fighter than him. He was asked by the interviewer;

"What is your opponents biggest weakness...?"

To which he replied...

"Me - I am his biggest weakness..."

In business we may underestimate our strengths - when we compete with the big or more established companies that are out there.  We must not attempt to beat them at what they do best, or simply attack what we perceive to be their weakness; or even worse simply go cheap in the hope that we will convince someone to buy from us because we are can save them 10%..

We need to beat them by doing what WE do best; providing services and products that are so attractive and valuable that we define our own niche...

You are your competitors greatest weakness - simply because customers can't get YOU from anywhere else. This is the biggest weakness you competitors have...

Your job is to be so good that no one can copy you - make your product and service so unique and compelling that you don't have to compete with anyone, you just have to manage the queue that will form to buy from you..

Sound too good to be true...?

Look at Apple, Zappos, Morgan Cars, Grand Theft Auto and The Ivy Restaurant to see how it is possible...

If you type into Google the term Business Coach UK - there will be around 122 Million results show up - that's two Coaches for every person who actually lives in the UK..

You could say that the market is a tad saturated...

So how is it possible to compete - simple - it's MAGIC

Market - continuously. Write Blogs, Books, Articles; produce Videos and get on stage at every opportunity to spread the word.

Advantage - what benefit to client derive from being with your - what is the advantage to them in the currency that they recognise

Great - have the best knowledge and skills in the business, and get fabulous results for your clients; echo the worlds of Ali "I am the greatest..."

Impressive- Coaching is an emotional purchase, being impressive is the best way to persuade people that you are the Best choice for them.

Consistent - be amazing all the time. People like predictability in terms of what they can expect from you.

This MAGIC formula applies to any business - just need to adapt the interpretations to suite your particular business sector...

Have a great week...
